Snowy Constraint List for CSP-CSC Trial

Clause (f) of Chapter 8A part 8 'Network Constraint Formulation' requires that NEMMCO publish a list of network constraints that relate directly to managing power flows in either a northward or southward direction between the network nodes to which the following power stations are directly connected:

  1. Lower Tumut;
  2. Upper Tumut;
  3. Murray; and
  4. Guthega.

The network constraints are set out in the attached file. They are sorted into 3 groups:

  • Constraints that may bind for power flow from Murray to Tumut;
  • Constraints that may bind for power flow from Tumut to Murray; and
  • Constraints that may bind for power flow in either direction.

Network constraints in the third group rarely bind. If this should occur, NEMMCO will investigate the prevailing system conditions and determine the direction of flow between Murray and Tumut.
